This year’s annual Peterlee Garden Competition ran by Peterlee Town Council received a fantastic 23 garden and 11 allotment entries, a new record for the town.
The inclusion of a ‘Sustainability’ category for the first time this year saw some inspiring, inventive and creative gardens that included plants loved by pollinators like bees and butterflies, habitats for animals and birds, recycling and re-use of some interesting objects and materials!
So many of Peterlee’s gardens look beautiful and smell amazing too, and the judges had a difficult time selecting their favourites. The Mayor of Peterlee, Councillor Rob Moore presented the prizes at an awards event held at Shotton Hall on Wednesday 20th July.
