Peterlee Town Council have vacancies for Town Councillors in the Edenhill Ward and the Howletch Ward due to the resignation of two serving councillors.
These vacancies will be filled by an application process, known as co-option, rather than by-elections. If you live, work or own property in Peterlee you can apply to be a ‘co-opted’ Member of the Council.

Please note that the term of co-option will be until May 2025 when all councillor positions will be open to election.
Completed application forms must be submitted electronically or in hard copy by close of play on Wednesday 11 December. Applications will be considered at the Council meeting on 16th December. Applicants will be offered the opportunity to introduce themselves and speak to the Council about their application at the meeting.
