Peterlee Community Fund

We're proud to support the fantastic work of local groups and organisations that make a positive difference in Peterlee. If you have a project that will benefit our community, we'd love to hear from you.

Peterlee Town Council has an annual budget of £22,000 available through the Peterlee Community Fund to support local community groups and organisations working to benefit the people of Peterlee.

Each Town Councillor has an allocation of £1,000 from the fund and can choose to award some, all or none of their allocation to each application. Applications from local community groups are often supported by the Councillors representing the ward in which the project takes place, and many applications also receive support from Councillors across the town.

The fund is available to help community groups and organisations meet the costs of events, services or equipment that will benefit the residents of Peterlee.

Before applying, please note the following:

  • Grants are available to community groups and organisations. Applications from individuals may be considered in exceptional circumstances.
  • You will be asked to provide some basic financial information to help the Council assess the financial position of your group or organisation. Please note that your application cannot be considered until this information has been received.
  • You will need to explain how your event, service or equipment will benefit the people of Peterlee.
  • If your application is successful, you will be asked to provide a short written report within six months explaining how the grant was used and the difference it has made.
  • Successful applicants cannot apply for further funding for 12 months. This helps ensure that as many groups and organisations as possible have the opportunity to benefit from the Peterlee Community Fund.

A small grant is a grant of £1000 and below and a large grant is considered to be £1001 and over. To apply, please take a look at the below links for the application form and to find out the expected timelines and processes for each grant type, below.
