Peterlee Garden Competition 2025 – Now Open for Entries (Peterlee Residents Only)

Love gardening? Whether you’re growing beautiful blooms, tasty veg, or creating a haven for wildlife—we want to see it!

The Peterlee Garden Competition 2025 is now open, and we’re inviting all residents (excluding Town Council members, staff, and their immediate families) to take part. It’s completely free to enter and open to gardeners of all experience levels—so whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started, we’d love you to join in!

Garden Categories include:

  • Small Garden (up to 50m²)
  • Large Garden (over 50m²)
  • Paved Garden (75% paved or more)
  • Best display of hanging baskets
  • Best edible garden
  • Best use of recycling and reused materials
  • Best habitat for wildlife
  • Mayor’s Favourite Garden
  • And many more!

Great Prizes to Be Won!

We’re giving away gift vouchers for 1st to 4th place in each main category—and £10 prizes in a variety of themed categories. Every entry will receive a certificate signed by the judges as a thank-you for taking part.

If you’ve got an allotment in Peterlee—this is your time to shine! There are dedicated categories and generous prizes just for allotment plot holders.
