Steven Franklin

Councillor Steven Franklin represents the Howletch ward and is also the Deputy Mayor for 2022/23.

My name is Steven Franklin I’ve grown up and lived in Peterlee most of life I went to school at Our Lady of the Rosary and St Bedes, I later went on to study Outdoor Education at East Durham college before spending two years in New York, USA working with children with special needs. When I returned back to England I then went on to study Outdoor adventure management at the university of Derby at their campus at Buxton in the Peak District where I also served on the local Mountain rescue team. When I returned home to Peterlee started working as a mental health support worker which I still do to this day but in a Senior role. I have served one term as a councillor and helped on many projects with fellow councillors and look forward to working for the residents of the Howletch for another, please feel free to get in touch with me if there is anything I can help with thank you.
