The Town Council is required to prepare a statement of accounts and annual governance statement every year, via an Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR). Smaller bodies are also subject to the limited assurance audit regime.

Peterlee Town Council
Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 (Regulation 16(1))
In accordance with the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, local councils are required to publish the audited Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) and the Notice of Conclusion of Audit by 30 September 2025.
Peterlee Town Council has not yet been able to publish these documents as we are awaiting the completion of the review and report from the External Auditor.
The audited AGAR and Notice of Conclusion of Audit will be published on this website as soon as they are received and available.
