PETERLEE GARDEN COMPETITION 2022

Calling all residents of Peterlee ..

As Spring has finally sprung,  for all you keen gardeners out there, be sure to enter the Peterlee Garden Competition this year. You don’t need to be an expert gardener, it could be a hobby or your favourite past time. There is a new category added for 2022, so please have a look below.

The Garden Competition will be judged on Monday 11th July (From 9am) in person, with the Presentation Lunch being held on Wednesday 20th July at 12Noon, Shotton Hall Banqueting Suites.

Maybe you have a friend, neighbour or family member who have a beautiful garden, let them know about this event and get some recognition for their hard work and share their blooming garden for all to enjoy!

The categories this year are as follows:-

Large garden (over 50m2)

Small Garden (up to 50m2)

The Best Hanging Basket

The Best Container

The Mayors Favourite Garden

The Best Pollenating Plants

The Best Range of Habitats for Animals and Birds

Best use of Recycling

Best re-use of Materials / Object

*There is also a Leisure Gardens Competition, which is open to all plot holders at Lowhills Road and Thorntree Gill, Peterlee. An entry form must be completed to enter, the deadline for all entries is Thursday 30th June 2022. Entry is free and will be judged on full and half plots.

If there are any joint winners in any categories the prize money will be shared equally between the winners.

*Excluded from entering this Competition are Members, Staff of the Town Council and their immediate families
