We are looking for a public minded and positive thinking Assistant Neighbourhood Services Operative (six months fixed term basis) to work as part of our Neighbourhood Services team. With a focus on consistently delivering an exceptional environmental service, and to support the Neighbourhood Services team and colleagues across Peterlee Town Council as we serve the people of Peterlee and beyond.
Essential:
Hold a full clean driving licence that is appropriate to operate a range of horticultural equipment such as ride-on and hand grass cutters.
5 GCSE’s to include English and Maths or equivalent.
What’s on offer?
*Salary: Scale point 2 – £10.79 per hour
*Full time 37hours per week

We’ll be shortlisting for interview during the next few days, we will contact successful people for interviews no later than close of play on Thursday 31st August 2023 and will be interviewing on Wednesday 6th September 2023.
We’re looking for the successful candidate to join us as soon as possible after that!

The warm welcome Community Cafe located at Shotton Hall Banqueting Suites, Peterlee, SR8 2PH, has now closed for the summer season.
The Cafe will re-open on Tuesday 5th September from 9am – 2pm and every Tuesday.
If you enjoy hearty home-cooked food, this is the place to be.

Peterlee Town Council Sport and Wellbeing are launching a new Men’s evening activity at The Pavilion Sport and Community Centre, Helford Road, SR8 1ER.
The new Sport and Social session will provide a friendly and welcoming environment for men to ‘hangout in’, socialise and interact with one another.
The session also provides the opportunity to take part in some traditional pub games such as pool and darts. (Tea and coffee available – NO ALCOHOL)
The session will enable men to get more active by providing the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports activities such as –
table tennis
curling
football
cricket &
rounders
Sessions are £2.50, no need to book, just drop in!
The session aims to support men and allow them to experience the benefits of social interaction through sport and physical activity in a relaxed and informal setting.
