The Pavilion Sports & Community Centre is a busy sports and community venue in a beautiful open setting surrounded by sports fields and next to the historic Castle Eden Dene National Nature Reserve. With a Funk a Deli bistro, main hall and various function rooms, the centre is used by a range of sports and community groups. We’re looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Reception/Administration Assistant on a part time basis covering maternity leave, working on reception and supporting the back office functions of the building.

MATERNITY COVER – Reception & Administration Assistant (ref: PTC011)
Grade Sc3 (£18,562 ) 20 hours per week – Monday & Tuesday, 9.00am until 5.00pm and Wednesday 4.30 until 9.30pm
Based at The Pavilion, Peterlee
Based at The Pavilion, Peterlee, you’ll be working as the main receptionist/administration assistant. You’ll handle day to day enquiries from members of the public by telephone or face to face on reception. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our main operational services working efficiently by providing administration support – this can mean a wide range of activities from taking bookings, helping with events, core admin tasks such as collating usage and financial data, filing and scanning records including orders and invoices, opening and distributing post, etc.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer services skills, the ability to carry out a range of tasks simultaneously maintaining attention to detail, including handling cash and payments. The ability to be adaptable and flexible, work as part of a team and have a good sense of humour. A good level of competence in the main Microsoft Office products is essential.
Peterlee Town Council organises and delivers a wide range of Town events every year, which are mostly held on the playing fields at Helford Road, namely, Peterlee Music Fest and Bonfire Night celebrations through to smaller local events such as Summer Fun Days.
This role is being offered on a part time basis, three days a week (Monday to Wednesday ). Due to the varied opening hours of the business some evening and weekend work maybe required. Working patterns for this role will be discussed with the successful candidate.
